AOC participates in Healthcare Career Expo

November 4th, 2010

The Bay Area Health Coalition promotes healthcare careers to local high school students in Baldwin & Mobile Counties. Each year they host a Career Expo and mock disaster to promote different healthcare careers. The students learn by doing hands on activities. This year, the BAHC added a “No Texting while Driving” message.

The staff from Alabama Orthopaedic Clinic taught students how to splint a fractured thumb. Each student walked away with a splinted thumb to remind them about the dangers of texting and driving. AOC also gave each student a cell phone wipe with the message “Break the Habit. Don’t text and drive.”
