“We are extremely pleased to be working with organizations of the quality and caliber of Alabama Orthopaedic Clinic, PC and The Delicious Dietitian to help members of our community take control of arthritis,” states Kellie Myers, Gulf Coast Area Development and Services Director of the Arthritis Foundation, Southeast Region. Arthritis is the nation’s most common cause of disability and limits activity for 19 million of the 50 million U.S. adults with doctor diagnosed arthritis. Suanne White-Spunner, MD of Alabama Orthopaedic Clinic, PC added, “We are proud to be working with the Arthritis Foundation to bring quality programs to the growing number of people with arthritis in our community. In Alabama, arthritis affects more than 1.2 million people and by 2030 the number of people diagnosed will surge to 3.4 million. We are pleased to offer a FREE exercise program at our facility to help people take control of arthritis and better manage this silent but painful disease.”
Jen Neese, owner of The Delicious Dietitian added, “Educating and showing people how simple a healthy lifestyle can be is our mission. Partnering with two fantastic organizations allows us to reach our community and explain the relationship between food and disease. Making smarter food choices helps battle chronic conditions such as arthritis.”
